Reflection from the Void

Con este proyecto, mi trabajo busca abordar el tema del vacío como estructura que ordena, contrasta y arma. Uso la representación de personajes, objetos y sucesos (históricos o cotidianos) para generar el contraste que evidencia lo in-visible de lo visible.

El tiempo y su relación con el proceso de la obra forman parte esencial de lo que me interesa exhibir. Todo aquello que la pintura no cubrió es el esqueleto de su obra, su concepto y la prueba del tiempo transcurrido en la construcción de la identidad de la pieza. La presencia del vacío, lo inesperado, es el detonante de las posibilidades infinitas de la obra, posibilidades que evitan la perdida de su propio momento.

With this project, my work tries to embark the topic of the void as a structure that orders, contrasts and puts together the painting itself. I use the representation of characters, objects and events (historical or everyday events) to generate the contrast that evidences the in-visible from the visible.

Time and its relation with the process of the piece form are an essential part of what I am interested in exhibiting. Everything that the painting didn’t cover as the underpaint in some of the pieces is the backbone of the piece, its concept and the proof of the time invested in the construction of the identity of the painting. The presence of the void, the unexpected, is the trigger of the infinite possibilities of the painting. Possibilities that, in my opinión, avoid the loss of its own moment.
